The ideal candidate will possess experience leading lean initiatives within a lean operation, as well as demonstrated skills in creating effective teams, developing direct reports, organizational flexibility, decision quality, and analyzing work completed. Work model:

  • 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Monday – Friday

What you will do:

  • Manage a team of 10-12 engineers, technicians, and supervisors, including identifying and implementing initiatives to meet business objectives
  • Partner with departmental leaders to ensure they have the ability to meet the fabrication goals given by the Site Leader and BU Leader
  • Direct others on how to identify operational waste and prioritize activities to enhance impact
  • Recognize and prioritize drivers that are negatively affecting performance data
  • Perform data analytics and identify root causes by coordinating cross-functional resources
  • Support brainstorming of solution options, identifying the highest value-creating solution; execute solutions
  • Implement initiatives to improve Safety, Delivery, Cost, and Quality by prioritizing organizational needs and organizing cross-functional resources

What you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills
  • A professional and positive attitude
  • Understanding of lean operations; experience driving lean initiatives in a manufacturing environment
  • 5-10 years of experience in an operational role
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in an operations environment
  • 5 years of Lean and/or 6 Sigma experience
  • Excellent computer and analytical skills
  • Experience with root cause analysis, experimental design, and cross-functional leadership
